About Peter

After obtaining his MBA from the Ivey School of Business back in 1996 and working in the financial industry for a dozen years, Peter returned to his roots and spent a year as the General Manager of one of Toronto's leading health and fitness clubs.

This experience persuaded him it was time to pursue his true passion - helping others achieve their personal health and fitness goals, an area in which Peter has proven he can add real value and make a positive contribution to people's lives.  Peter is now working full-time as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach, providing personal training to others interested in improving their physical capabilities or body composition.  Specific areas of interest might include general strength and conditioning, sport-specific training, body sculpting, or fat loss.  This is the culmination of Peter’s life-long passion for sports, fitness, and strength training.

Peter is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  This is widely considered to be the standard by which other Training certifications are judged.  He is also certified as a Level 2 Coach through the Poliquin International Certification Program (P.I.C.P.), an advanced certification series.  These certifications complement his many years of high-level practical training experience and extensive personal study on the topics of strength and power development,  body composition training, sport-specific training, program design, exercise technique, and aerobic and anaerobic conditioning.

Peter competed at the National level in the shot put and discus (he was coached by two National coaches and trained with several National Champions and Olympians), at the varsity level in rowing, and at the recreational level in short-course triathlons and distance running (including completing a half-marathon in 1:38 while weighing a powerful 235 pounds - not bad for a former shot putter). He has competed at the international level in the Highland Games, in which he holds the Canadian Masters record in two events.  His most recent achievements were at the Masters level in the shotput and discus throw, in which he is the Ontario and Canadian Championship record holder in his age category.

Over the years, he has also had to rehabilitate himself from various injuries.  Basically, when it comes to training, Peter has "been there and done that."
